About

My name is Tim Kadlec, and I’m a web addict.

I started off going to school for computer science. While doing so, I “designed” a few sites for old hometown friends using my self-taught HTML knowledge and whatever graphics I could find for free on the internet. Please don’t hold that against me.

After 2 years or so of C++, COBOL, Java and the like, I decided I enjoyed the ever-changing web development world more, and in 2005, I started doing that instead.

I’m quite passionate about the web – it’s potential is incredible, it’s technologies never stay the same, and the challenges the medium poses keep you on your toes. In 2007, I decided to start blogging about this passion.

Since then, my interests have increased immensely (and I’d like to think my knowledge has as well). Therefore, as of this incarnation, the blog will no longer be strictly about code and design. If you want to apply a label to it’s contents, let’s just call it “Tim’s interests”.

For those of you looking for just a bit more meta information about myself, there are few things I’d rather do than sit down with a good book. I also enjoy country music (the horror) and pretty much any movie that Denzel Washington has ever acted in.

I live in the small unincorporated village of Krakow, Wisconsin with my wife Kate. We have one beautiful baby girl Naomi, and a second baby on the way next summer.
